Monday adventures on and around the lake!
The view on our friday night run. One of our students, Alyssa, is in the picture with us. Abbey and I went for a run along the runways and to the lake. In May, Port Alsworth will be getting a store/cafe...sorry I am missing it!
Some days are made for no make-up, a hat, and a mountain. Saturday we took a teacher hike to the river. We decided to do some climbing, I went half way up and laid in the sunshine and listened to the river, while they made their way to the top.
My Alaska birthday was very special thanks to many people. Friday night, one of our friends that lives near Anchorage, sent me out cheesecake and strawberries. Two of my basketball girls made me another cheesecake. So, if you didn't already know, I love cheesecake! My mom also sent me decorations, and some small gifts to open before I get home. My basketball girls all wrote me birthday/going away letters that made me cry, of course. Abbey made me Fettucini Alfredo for dinner, and borrowed Catching Fire so I could finally see it! I was sad that I couldn't be with my family and friends back home, but my Port Alsworth family made me feel very loved, and now I have an excuse to have two birthdays :). So thank you to everyone for making my birthday special. I can't wait to see what adventures 23 holds!
